This barn looks clean and well kept, evidence of a barn still in use. It's design is reminiscent of the Dutch Barns, with its gable roofs, reaching low to the ground. This gabling allowed the upper stories to be used for feed and hay storage. Below, the main aisle could be used to unload wagons and for threshing. At the top of the barn, you might notice small openings for ventilation, which also allowed small birds, such as swallows to enter. Out quilt block design featured on this barn also welcomes the young swallow to enter and find safe housing.
