This old gray barn is set in the middle of a valley with rolling hills behind it.Pictured on thefront is the Dutch Pinwheel.This quilt block is quite similar to the classic Colorado Quilt Block, designed and published in the Kansas City Star in 1941.Under the caption of the pattern was written, “A northwestern Kansas woman, Mrs. Pearl Bacon of Achilles, has given us this design as a friendly token to the state that is on Kansas’ western boundary line.”
