Loving Hug

Oh how a simple gesture, fills this old man with ease,

Calms his heart, raises his spirit and bolsters if you please.

A warm embrace fondly given, with loving energy,

A hug is a special moment, the best that it can be.

Life’s trials seem put on hold, when you are embraced in a loving way,

Goodness percolates thru your heart, and helps ease your pain.

But warm hugs are not just for troubled times, or only when you’re down,

Hugs bolster celebrations, with good feelings all around

One often yearns for a hug, when life is filled with uncertainty,

When days seem so endless, with fears of what tomorrow might be.

Oh if these hugs could be stored, saved and be in reserve,

To that day when they’re needed badly, after life has tossed a curve.
